This VHP-style quick coupler plug is designed for use with machines that have higher pressures (3200 PSI to 4500 PSI). The ball groove has a radius instead of an angle. The radius mates with balls in the matching VHP coupler socket. The balls in the VHP coupler socket are larger in diameter than the balls used in the industry standard coupler socket. This larger ball seating in the mating radius resists peening of the plug. This peening occurs when the gun trigger is pulled and the pressure forces the plug against the coupler balls. This peening is what destroys the coupler plug. This plug is of the highest quality made, being machined from 316 stainless steel and is highly corrosive resistant.

The radius mates with balls in the matching XHP coupler socket. The balls in the XHP coupler socket are larger in diameter than the balls used in the industry standard coupler socket. This larger ball seating in the mating radius resists peening of the plug. This peening occurs when the gun trigger is pulled and the pressure forces the plug against the coupler balls. This peening is what destroys the coupler plug. This plug is of the highest quality made, being machined from 316 stainless steel and is highly corrosive resistant. This plug will not fit any socket except the XHP. These coupler sockets and plugs were installed onto 5000 PSI hoses. The plug can be identified by a V groove cut into the hex portion of the plug & socket.
